Starstruck Shelties was
established in 1994 and Starstruck Agility in 2000. We are
located in Spanish Springs, a small community just north of
Reno/Sparks, Nevada. Our home sits on a little over an acre, and
the back portion of the acre is a grass agility field where I
hold classes four days a week
Starstruck Shelties is a very small kennel. We have five adult
sable and white shelties – 1 male and 4 females. Our dogs have
the run of the house and sleep at the foot of our bed. Two of
our girls are AKC champions, have agility titles and are
registered Pet Therapy dogs. Our one male needs a major to
complete his AKC championship, and he also has agility titles.
The dogs that are used for breeding are checked for hip
dysplasia, eye diseases, and vWD. We raise litters once or twice
a year. The puppies are raised in the kitchen/family room area
with a lot of hands on love and affection. The puppies are
exposed to a lot of different surfaces (grass, dirt, small
rocks, cement, carpet, etc) and objects (playing in tunnels,
crawling up small stairs, jumping over rocks and in-between
boulders, etc.) Also, the neighborhood children come over and
play with the puppies. Pet/companion puppies are sold on a
spay/neuter contract on an AKC Limited Registration.
I am a member of the American Shetland Sheepdog Association,
Treasurer of the Northern Nevada Shetland Sheepdog Club,
President of Happy Animals = Harmonious Agility Club, and a
member of Quicksilver Agility Club and Truckee Meadows Dog
Training Club.
